Blossoms of Hope Island Hospice

Picture
The Florist at Waiahole Nursery teamed up with Island Hospice's "Blossoms of Hope" program to provide fresh flowers and flowering plants to Oahu's elderly & terminally ill patients! Flowers are picked-up by volunteers and dropped off for recipient's Birthdays, anniversary, or when in need of some extra "cheer!"
How you can help:
1) Donate fresh cut flowers and foliage from your yard/garden, tagged with "blossoms  of hope"  and drop-off at our store location.
2) Join us for a private floral design workshop and donate your creation to Blossoms of Hope.
3) Purchase flowers or a decorative plant at our store location and donate it to Blossoms of Hope- we will match, stem-for-stem your donation!
4) Volunteer helping to pick, clean, and arrange flowers for donation at our store location.

Volunteer to Care for the Aina

Here at Waiahole Nursery, we feel it is all of our responsibilities to Malama Honua (Protect our World).  Hawaii is truly a special place with unique and endemic (only found in the islands) plants, animals, and insects, that deserve our protection. Everyone can do their part, even in the smallest of ways. We hope you find the links on this page as helpful as we have in becoming better stewards of our land!
Plastic Free July aims to raise awareness of the problems and amount of single-use disposable plastic in our lives and challenges people to do something about it. You can sign up for a day, a week, or the whole month and try to refuse ALL single-use plastic or try the TOP 4: plastic bags, water bottles, takeaway coffee cups, and straws. Sign up at www.plasticfreejuly.org. The website also includes a toolbox for plastic free living with recipes, tips, ideas, and stories of Plastic Free July in action as well as resources for schools, groups, and businesses.
It’s estimated that by 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in the world’s oceans. Most comes from land and was was once in our hands. Refuse single-use plastic and together let’s keep our oceans clean. Join over 40,000 people, schools and organizations from 90 countries and let those same hands be part of the solution.
Use @PlasticFreeJuly on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to share snapshots from your Plastic Free July!
